AME, Inc., Recognized as Significant Supporter of York Technical College Foundation

At a press conference held on Tuesday, June 25, York Technical College
highlighted the importance of the York Technical College Foundation's Dawn
to Dusk Golf Marathon and the substantial contribution of those who made
this year's event successful. This year's Golf Marathon, spearheaded by
Foundation President Frank Campbell, President of AME, Inc. and board member
Bill Kimbrell, raised more than $40,000, which will be used to provide scholarships for needy students.
The 26 golfers (six teams,) who played on
five area courses, represented the support of major donors such as Comporium,
Founders Federal, Chester Telephone, AME, Inc., as well as the faculty and
staff of York Technical College and hundreds of individual donors.

The college gave special recognition to AME, Inc., a company headquartered
in Fort Mill, which is an industry-leading provider of a wide variety of
industrial and general contracting services. AME, Inc. was a significant
supporter of the Golf Marathon and a major partner in the college's
Institute for Manufacturing Productivity.
The endowed scholarships provided by the York Technical College Foundation
continue to be important even after the advent of lottery-generated tuition
assistance. Currently, lottery money is covering only half the cost of
tuition. For many students, Foundation scholarships meet the critical need
for the remainder of tuition as well as books and relevant costs.

AME, Inc. of Fort Mill, SC has been awarded the 4 Star General Award for the top industrial project in the Carolinas. GSI General Materials, LLC, a major supplier of building materials for the construction industry, annually presents the 4 Star General Awards based on the category, size and prestige of construction projects in the Carolinas. AME, Inc. was recognized in the industrial category for the Freightliner Expansion Project, Mt. Holly, NC. The presentation was made at a ceremony at the GSI General Materials offices in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, October, 11.

AME, Inc., has landed on South Carolina's list of the top 100 privately held businesses.
The list, which has been compiled by Arthur Andersen for 15 years, ranks the companies according to revenues from the most recently completed fiscal year.

AME, Inc., was recently featured in the November, 1999 issue of Dixie Contractor magazine. Dixie Contractor is a major construction trade publication that spotlights the industry's top firms and provides feature stories pertaining to their most challenging projects. The magazine is distributed to over 11,000 industry subscribers throughout South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

AME, Inc., of Fort Mill, SC, was featured on the cover of the May 24, 1999 edition of Construction magazine.
Contruction is a major trade publication that spotlights the industry's top firms and provides feature stories pertaining to their most challenging projects. The magazine is distributed to over 10,000 industry subscribers throughout North Carolina, Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and West Virginia.
